When it comes to beauty advice, one good option would be to take a look through our grandmother’s notes as we might find old school, simple, natural and economic recipes that actually work.
We have made a selection of a few interesting all- natural tips which we would like to share with you.
Honey for removing stains and scars
This easy to use ingredient could be useful in order to wipe away old age spots and reduce the appearance of scars. It is naturally antibacterial and rich in antioxidants which makes it perfect for our beauty routine no matter if we are looking for a glowing moisturized skin or for acne treatment and prevention. Apply a small amount of honey, with delicate massage to affected areas. Leave for 30 minutes, then remove with lukewarm water. Repeat three times a week and you will see the amazing effects of this magical golden moisturizer mother earth has given us.
Natural , economic and effective, this honey treatment is one sweet beauty advice to follow.
Cold water
Cold water is essential for a fresh, healthy looking skin. When our grandmothers woke up in the morning, they washed their face and neck with fresh cold water, directly from the well. It was enough to activate blood circulation and have red, blooming cheeks.
Milk bath
Known since the age of Cleopatra, milk baths are known to make the skin white and smooth like … milk. Fill three-quarters of your bathtub with hot water and add 2-3 liters of milk. As we all now, this Egyptian Empress remained famous for her beauty.
Cucumber milk
The moisture promoting, juicy cucumbers most of us simply adore, are widely used for skin remedies ( both internally and externally).Slice cucumbers, remove the seeds with a spoon, chop into chunks and mix it in the blender. Stir this fresh cucumber juice with fresh milk in equal quantities. Every evening, soak a piece of cotton wool in this mixture and clean your face with it. After 20 minutes, rinse with lukewarm water. Not only does it help nourish your skin but it’s also great for drinking. As strange as this combination might sound, you will see that it is extremely tasty and refreshing.
Sleep on your back
This is a beauty advice that has been heard and followed by generations of women. The pressure on our face caused by our sleeping positions can cause sleep wrinkles. In absence of any medical problems, sleeping on your back is ideal. If this sleeping position is not comfortable enough for you, try another trick: wrap your pillow in silk or satin . Their slippery surface is delaying the appearance of wrinkles.
Fruit peel for young, glowing skin
Here’s another beauty tip history has taught us: instead of throwing away the remaining peel from apples and pears, massage their fruity interior on your skin. Leave for 10-15 minutes, then rinse. Fruit peel is a wonderful natural moisturizer,it has many vitamins and minerals and is quickly absorbed by the skin. Their vitamin content helps reduce free-radical damage, which can lead to skin discoloration and wrinkles.
